My Spyder is a 2460-pound V8-powered roadster derivative of the incredibly rare 1965 Shelby Daytona Coupe (the coupe version of the AC Cobra that was beating Ferrari on the faster European tracks in the mid-60s).  It has a fiberglass body on a steel and aluminum subframe; the frame consists of two 4” round steel tubes that extend almost completely front to rear complimented by 2x2” and 1x1” square tubing for the rest of the substructure, creating a very strong chassis.  It has a fuel-injected Ford 302 V8 that has been bored and stroked to 347 cubic inches.  The motor has Trick Flow Twisted Wedge heads, an Anderson hi-rev camshaft and an Edelbrock Victor Jr. intake modified for fuel injectors.  The fuel injection system is from a company called Mass-Flo, which uses a four-bbl throttle body and a mass air meter hidden under a carb air cleaner.  Behind the motor you’ll find a Tremec 5-speed transmission with a Ram HD clutch and a Kevlar scattershield blanket around the bellhousing.  The rear end is a Ford 8.8” with posi-traction and forged axles.

The suspension has a few major upgrades, and the car was built to keep weight to a minimum.  As of now it does not have power steering or power brakes, although I’m contemplating retrofitting something electric in for one or both of those systems.  The tires are brand new Kumho Ecsta XS extreme summer tires and the car has 12” brakes, including 4-piston Wilwood calipers up front.  There’s a handful of other, smaller things that are on the car (like the alarm, with a proximity sensor, motion sensor and ½ mile pager with remote cutout) but I can get into those details in person if you are seriously interested.  The car has less than 1,400 miles on it and is stored in an inflatable bubble through the winter months.
